What is Running Paper?
Running Paper is a web based platform that uses AI to mark and grade handwritten pen and paper assessments at scale. You can upload up to a 1000 pages of assessment in one single upload and the platform does the rest. Allocation to student, marking, feedback, and question level analysis is done automatically within seconds.
How is student work processed?
When students submit their handwritten work, the platform uses advanced processing techniques to mark and provide feedback. The platform recognises and assesses the content based on predefined marking criteria, offering suggestions and automated feedback.
How accurate is the handwriting recognition?
The accuracy of the handwriting recognition machine learning model is high, out of the box it is greater than 90% accurate. Once converted to digital format we pass the the text to a large language model to further improve the accuracy.
Can I review the feedback before it’s given to students?
Yes, as a teacher, you can review all feedback and marks before they are shared with students. You can make adjustments to the feedback if needed, ensuring that it aligns with your expectations.
Is my students' data secure?
Yes, we take the privacy and security of your students' data very seriously. All student submissions and personal data are securely stored and processed in compliance with UK GDPR and other applicable data protection laws.
How can I reset my password?
If you've forgotten your password, go to the login page and click on 'Forgot Password'. You'll receive an email with a link to reset your password.
Can I use Running Paper on mobile devices?
Running Paper is a web-based platform, which means you can access it from any device with a modern web browser, including mobile phones and tablets. However, for the best experience, we recommend using a desktop or laptop.
What types of assessments can I create?
We specialise in long form free text questions. This includes questions like essays, reports, and other forms of writing. We want to focus difficult high value questions that are more difficult to mark, assess and grade. You can test image based question such as diagrams, graphs, charts, etc.
How do I contact customer support?
Schools and educational organisations can contact our customer support team through phone support available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM (UK time) for urgent issues. For general inquiries, you can also reach us via email. We guarantee a response to email inquiries within 2 business days. This service is included as part of your institutional contract. Contact details will be provided as part of the onboarding pack. For individual teachers, you can contact us via email or via the 'Contact Us' page.
How can I see my students' results?
You'll have access to a fully interactive dashboard with detailed analytics on each assessment and submission. This includes the actual uploaded submissions, the converted digital text, feedback for each question and individual and overall scores. You can review both individual student metrics as well as class wide performance, allowing you to track progress in real time.
